goin’ to the chapel

It’s nice to see that even royal weddings have their share of family feuding.  Allegedly.  RSVPs are back.  2000 background checks, done.  ID verifications, done. Security sweeps, done {for now}.  Trees in Westminster Abbey, check.  Petrol in the car and defying tradition, check.  Lined up the horses, check.  White dress, check.  Will the dignified Chelsy be invited?  Methinks the Queen might not see HER as royal marriage material.

I can’t wait to see what her wedding dress will be like.  And I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the trees.

april

We’re 10 days into April, and we’ve already had the last day of kindy for term 1, a big birthday picnic, and a day out in Sydney.

It’s Jolly Phonics Day!  The last day of Term 1, and the kindy kids had a ball.

‘c’ is for crazy critters.

‘j’ is for jumping castle.

‘m’ is for marshmallow mouse.

‘s’ is for snow.

‘b’ is for bubbles.

The big birthday picnic on the weekend was perfect.  It was a sunny, breezy day in the middle of this rainy weather.  We were all so happy to feel the warm sun on our faces, and we stayed out until it was almost dark.

The requested ‘swimming pool cake’ for Daiz, who turned 4.

The birthday girl.

The birthday boy.

A special birthday tea with grandma & grandpa.

And a big day of fun at the Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour, along with a ferry ride.  The glass tunnel was great, with sharks swimming over us.  We even found Nemo.

Best buddies.

What a cutie!!

swimming lessons!

So cute!  Daisy and BFF Will at their swimming lesson.  Superman arms!  Put your face down and blow bubbles!  Kick, kick, kick!

And in other breaking news…our garden is just about finished.  We’ve planted and watered, and now all I have to do is put down the sugar cane mulch.  Woot woot!

Now for the waiting…I hope they transplanted ok.  I also planted some Stock seeds, so I can’t wait till they start to grow.  I used to have some at my back door at Mulbring and they were SO beautiful and fragrant – and I can’t wait to put some in a vase on my table.

Daisy turns 3

We had Daisy’s third birthday party yesterday afternoon. I’ve always thought that the first and second birthdays were more for us then her – so it’s the first Big Girl party she’s had; with a proper cake, decorations and all.  She had a great day, and I even let her eat whatever she wanted {despite the fleeting thought that she might end up vomiting at the end of the day…which she didn’t!}. You know a kid’s happy when they have chocolate cake smeared on their face!

The kids had bunting and lanterns, a pup tent made from old sheets, I made pin wheels and finger food {and there was our trampoline, swings, cubby house and fort of course}.

I made pinwheels {or Windmills as Daisy calls them}. They were a good idea and a great design but badly implemented! I didn’t have the right bits {I couldn’t find the tool I have to fasten the grommets, so I ended up making them decorative but not very functional}
