april

We’re 10 days into April, and we’ve already had the last day of kindy for term 1, a big birthday picnic, and a day out in Sydney.

It’s Jolly Phonics Day!  The last day of Term 1, and the kindy kids had a ball.

‘c’ is for crazy critters.

‘j’ is for jumping castle.

‘m’ is for marshmallow mouse.

‘s’ is for snow.

‘b’ is for bubbles.

The big birthday picnic on the weekend was perfect.  It was a sunny, breezy day in the middle of this rainy weather.  We were all so happy to feel the warm sun on our faces, and we stayed out until it was almost dark.

The requested ‘swimming pool cake’ for Daiz, who turned 4.

The birthday girl.

The birthday boy.

A special birthday tea with grandma & grandpa.

And a big day of fun at the Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour, along with a ferry ride.  The glass tunnel was great, with sharks swimming over us.  We even found Nemo.

Best buddies.

What a cutie!!

the seasons they are a changin’

This time of year is just beautiful.  These days it’s still a little cool, but warm when you’re sitting in the sun.  These days the sky is clear and the most beautiful shade of blue.  These days I’ve put down my crocket hooks and knitting needles and I’m feeling the urge to paint and draw creeping up on me.  These days we’ve spent some lovely afternoons at the park.

the popstar turns 5!

We had such a fun day ice skating then playing at the park.  The girls did really well for their first time on the ice!  We’ll definitely have to do it again.

morpeth & the muscle whisperer

I went to Morpeth to visit Leon Willis {muscle manipulator} who worked his magic on my neck and shoulders.  Aside from the fact that I feel like a newborn {no neck pain or headaches} since visiting him, I got to wander down the street in one of my favourite little historic towns.

the bathtub seats were a hit!

no more noughties! hello 2010!

It’s a brand new year! You’ve gotta love that. I’ve always loved brand new stationery, a canvas, diaries, a blank page…endless possibilities!

Poppy has started the new year with a BANG!  She learnt to ride her bike with no training wheels on New Years Day. We took the kids to the park where they have a large concrete area on the stage. They rode around for ages, and Poppy got to  pedal around on her old bike with no training wheels. Now that she’s riding without them, we can take the trainers off her new big bike. woot woot!

Nadine, Kaelan and Ebony came too. It was a pretty hot, muggy, humid day, so the kids soon migrated to the playground.

kaelan, daisy, poppy, ebony…don’t let their innocent looks fool you.
