family.

Here’s a little snippet of our family photos from the weekend.  Taken by our dear {and very talented} friend Fliss from Felicity Thomson Photography.  And it was lovely to see her and the boys on Saturday.

We haven’t seen all the pictures yet, but when we do I’ll put some more up.  If you haven’t got any family photos done recently, I can’t rave enough about Fliss, you should visit her website.

family funday sunday #2!

We headed to Sydney again, for a family funday sunday on the train.  We visited the MCA (to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibition) then took the kids for lunch and a wander around Darling Harbour & Circular Quay.  We caught the ferry around the harbour just for fun.

After the exhibition, the kids played in the spiral water fountain at circular quay

the seasons they are a changin’

This time of year is just beautiful.  These days it’s still a little cool, but warm when you’re sitting in the sun.  These days the sky is clear and the most beautiful shade of blue.  These days I’ve put down my crocket hooks and knitting needles and I’m feeling the urge to paint and draw creeping up on me.  These days we’ve spent some lovely afternoons at the park.

coffee @ the rocks

We spent a lovely Sunday at the Aroma Coffee Festival at The Rocks in Sydney.  CityRail has a Family Funday Sunday thing on at the moment with almost all transport at $2.50 per person for the whole day.  Kids mostly enjoyed the train ride {next time I think I need to take some toys as back up!}

a well earned rest stop

a rainy day at the beach {priceless!}

After our awesome flying experience, we thought Hmmmm… it’s not even 10am. What should we do now? We decided to get some breakfast, then head down to the Baths at Merewether for a swim. It was raining and overcast, but not too cold. Turns out it was actually warmer in the water {out of the breeze}. Kids had an absolute BALL, Poppy kept saying “that was so much fun” in the car on the way home. Which was better than her previous mantra “hang gliding is so boring” haha.  For some reason, my swimmers were not in the trug of beach stuff we brought so I swam in my clothes – and Sarah had to do the same – but it was heaps of fun. Sitting in a wet towel all the way home, not so much! Nige and Darren did some laps, Elijah and Caleb played in the sand. Poppy, Daisy and Livvy braved the turbulent waters. And all this before lunch time! Such a great morning, thanks for the memories, Mortons!

Nice pose, Sarah!

Darren following Nige to do some laps.

Daisy decided to dip her toes in first… eeeek it’s cold.

Poppy testing out the waters.

Didn’t your mother teach you it’s not polite to point?

Sarah following Livvy to the blocks.

Sarah jumping off the blocks in style.

I look slightly hysterical…must have been the hang gliding high!

Go Livvy!

Daisy contemplating the insanity of it all.

Walking back to get warm & dry.

Nige and I, awww xox
